1. Who we are

StoryBook Schools helps children make their own illustrated storybooks. Children write their own stories, or shape a story that we write and illustrate with them, and parents receive a short report after each story.

StoryBook Schools is operated by ONEVAULT FZE LLC ("we", "us", "our"). If you have any question about your privacy, email us at maryam@storybookschools.com.

2. The short version

A parent creates the account. Children use StoryBook Schools inside their parent's account.
We only collect what we need to make stories and reports.
We never sell your family's information, and there are no ads inside StoryBook Schools.
Your child's stories belong to your family.
You can see, change or delete your family's information at any time.

3. Information we collect

About you (the parent)

Your email address and password (stored securely), and your name if you add it.
A parent PIN, if you set one.
Your story balance and purchases. Payments are handled by our payment provider, and we do not see or store your full card details.
Messages you send us.

About your child

First name and age range. We do not ask for a surname, date of birth, school or address.
A cartoon avatar. If you choose to upload a photo to create it, we use the photo only to make the avatar and do not keep it.
Their stories and the choices they make, the pictures we create, their answers to story questions, and the reports and feedback we create.
Sign-in details for Story World, and basic information about how the service is used, so it works properly.

From visitors to our website

If you try the sample on our home page, we use what you type only to create the sample and do not save it.
Cookies and similar tools, as described in section 9.

4. How we use information

To run your account and Story World.
To create, illustrate and save your child's stories, and to create reports and feedback.
To manage your story balance and purchases.
To reply to you and send you important messages about your account.
To keep the service safe, including automatic checks for unsuitable content.
To understand how the service is used overall, so we can improve it.

We do not use children's information for advertising, and we do not build marketing profiles of children.

5. Photos

Uploading a photo is always optional. If you upload one, we use it only to create your child's cartoon avatar, and we do not keep the photo afterwards.

6. How we use AI

StoryBook Schools uses artificial intelligence (AI) services from trusted providers to write and illustrate stories, read them aloud, check content is safe and create reports. We send these services only the information needed for each task.

We choose AI services whose terms say they do not use our content to train their own models.
AI can make mistakes. Pictures may not match the story exactly, and reports are a helpful guide, not a school grade or a professional assessment.

7. Helping us improve (optional)

In Settings, you can choose to let us use your child's stories, with names removed, to improve our reports and feedback. This is off unless you turn it on. We never sell these stories or share them with other companies, and you can turn this off at any time. Saying no does not change anything else.

8. Sharing information

We never sell personal information. We share it only with service providers who help us run StoryBook Schools, such as hosting, database, AI, payment and email providers, and only so they can provide their services to us. On our public website pages, we also use advertising measurement tools (see section 9).

We may also share information if the law requires it, or to protect the safety of a child or others.

Our service providers may process information in other countries. We take reasonable steps to make sure it stays protected.

9. Cookies and similar tools

Essential tools keep you signed in and remember your settings. The service cannot work without them.
Measurement tools on our public pages (such as the home page and sign-up page) help us understand whether our advertising works. We do not use them inside the parent area or Story World.
Videos on our home page are hosted by YouTube. The video only loads, and YouTube's own privacy policy only applies, after you press play.

You can control or delete cookies in your browser settings.

10. Keeping information safe

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your family's information, and only people who need it to run the service can access it. No system is completely secure, but if a serious incident affects your information, we will let you know.

11. How long we keep information

We keep your family's information while your account is open. When you delete your account, we delete your family's information. We may keep some limited records, such as purchase records, for as long as the law requires, without your name or contact details where possible.

12. Your choices

You can at any time:

see and update your family's information in Settings and Children;
delete a child or your whole account (Settings → Delete my account);
change your choices about photos, public stories and helping us improve;
ask us for a copy of your family's information by emailing us.

Depending on where you live, you may have other rights over your information. To use any of them, email maryam@storybookschools.com.

13. Children

StoryBook Schools is made for children, but only a parent or legal guardian aged 18 or over can create an account. When you sign up, we ask you to agree to this policy and our Terms of Use for you and your child, and we keep a record of that choice. We ask separately before using a photo, before showing a story publicly, and before using stories to improve our reports.

If you think a child has used StoryBook Schools without a parent's permission, please email us and we will delete the information.

14. Stories shown on our website

We only show a child's story publicly with the parent's permission, and only with the child's first name and age. You can ask us to remove it at any time.

15. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. If we make important changes, we will let you know by email or in the app. The date at the top shows the latest version.
